There isn't a human on this planet that couldn't learn from Lonnie Phillips. From a tumultuous childhood full of abuse and chaos to accidentally joining the navy to leading over 20,000 people, he is full of life lessons, a peace that far surpasses what worldly success promises, and one of the most incredible stories of forgiveness. Truly, I could've talked to Lonnie for hours.
In an episode on success, the takeaways are slow down, focus on your marriage/family, and nourish your soul. WOAH.

It's 2024 and maybe you've set some goals for the year that excite you! Or maybe goal setting overwhelms you in general. Arika and Hunter have figured out the sweet spot of how to have Christ-centered dreams. We have one mission - to follow Jesus. But that doesn't mean we don't have other dreams that fall under that life of being surrendered. With successful businesses, their marriage, their parenting, everything they do points to one thing - Jesus. We talk avoiding burnout, rejecting hustle culture, and being multi-passionate followers of Jesus.

Not to mention they have a WILD story of an experience that totally shaped their faith together.

Happy 2024 Neighbors!! We are kicking off Season 2 with two of my favorites - Caitlin Armstrong and Natalie Shatley. Caitlin was a fan favorite from Season 1 and Natalie's husband, Tyler (infamous for his barefoot philosophy, oh, and a Jags player)who was also a fan favorite, are here to share all things ANGER. Yep, you read that right. Why kick off the new year with resolutions and goal setting when we all really know we just need some help loving Jesus and people every day.

We also share some funny stories, talk discipleship, and why reading your Bible is absolutely essential to a life of peace.

Our FINAL episode of Season 1 is with none other than the amazing Lindsey Sweat aka Trella. She is a singer and songwriter. She's written on all types of music, from Maverick City to Love is Blind.  I called this episode "When God Gives You a Gift" because she knew when she was in middle school that God put singing/song writing in her and she has pursued that gift down so many paths. Amidst her very fun and exciting life we talk all about, she has also battled seasons of doubting her faith, anxiety, and depression and we talk about all about how she has worked through those seasons.

Check out her music and enjoy this perfect finale conversation of Neighbors Season 1 :)

Give Lindsey a follow on instagram @trellatunes and find her music on Spotify, Apple Music, or anywhere music is under Trella.

Kat exudes joy and positivity, yet her story is full of strife, setbacks, loss, grief, and “why God?” moments. But through it all, she has taken what life has dealt her and turned it into a platform to inspire, encourage, and minister to women. She’s a content creator, social media influencer, co-owner of He Would Love First with her husband, and all around shining light in this digital age.

Pastor One (pronounced “oh-nay”) is one of the most inspiring and insightful individuals I have ever sat across from. One is the lead pastor of Rooted Fellowship church in Pretoria, South Africa and the Network Director of Africa for Acts29. His unique life experience paired with his wisdom in leadership and gospel-centered fellowship left me literally throwing my planned questions out the window and saying “tell me more”. I was personally pastored in this episode and I hope you are too!

I have known Stacey for 25 years. We grew up one street over from one another and she was, and is, my older sister's best friend which means I have looked up to Stacey since the moment I met her. I have watched her pursue Jesus and love people so fiercely through the hard seasons and the joyful seasons. She says yes to so many things people wouldn’t even consider saying yes to (you'll hear her downplay that, but don't let it fool you). Things like moving to Northern Ireland to be a long term missionary and child play therapist. Her life has emulated what it means to trust God’s call on your life. To say yes even when you can’t see the ending.

Singer, songwriter, musician, and worship leader, JereMiah Carr, aka Dozzy Daniel, is a party on the podcast this week. You may have seen him jumping and dancing around the stage leading worship, but find out where that comes from and his “why” in life. We talk about childhood dreams, battling rejection and expectations, Godly confidence, and why family legacy matters.

Once or twice a season, I want to just tell people's stories. A storyteller episode, if you will. No better way to start it than with Audrey Sower's story. Listen to how she unexpectedly became a foster mom overnight. Yep, literally overnight. Her story is one of surprises, hardship, God's sovereignty, endurance, and continually putting her yes on the table. I know your eyes will be opened to some realities of the foster care world and how we all have a part to play in it. Be inspired by my sweet friend, Audrey.
